Russell Bedford, the worldwide accounting and consulting group, has announced the appointment of DMF System International Independent Auditing, Consulting & Certified Public Accounting Co. as the network's new and exclusive member firm in Turkey.
DMF System was founded as a partnership in 2004 by a group of former senior specialized tax auditors and inspectors in the Turkish Ministry of Finance. The firm was recently restructured as a corporation and now has five shareholders including the three founding partners. All the partners are certified public accountants and have substantial professional experience in both governmental and private sectors.
Aslan Kaya, the firm’s chairman, has a degree from the University of Ankara and a Master of Science in Accountancy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (USA). He also studied tax analysis and revenue forecasting at Harvard University Institute for International Development.
Aslan has some 20 years of professional experience, including some 15 years in tax inspection roles in the Ministry of Finance. He was Vice-Chairman of the Tax Inspectors Board within the Ministry from 1998 to 2000. Since 1998, he has also been a lecturer in accounting principles and financial accounting at Bilkent University, and has taught financial statement analysis as part of the MBA programme at Atilim University.
The other partners, Izzet Baykara and Mehmet Altindag, as former senior specialised tax auditors in the Ministry of Finance, also have significant experience in auditing and taxation.
From its office in Ankara, the firm offers services throughout Turkey. Services include: auditing, accounting, tax compliance and consulting, M&A advice, business valuations, due diligence, studies and investigations, company administration, strategic management and business consulting, investment evaluation and training.
DMF System is authorized by the Capital Markets Board (SPK) as an Independent Professional Firm which is qualified to perform independent audit assignments for publicly held companies, brokers, investment funds and other organisations operating in accordance with the Capital Markets Law and related regulations. In addition, the firm is authorized by the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) to perform independent audits of companies operating in the energy sector.
