• Groundbreaking technologies for tomorrow’s mobility: Knorr-Bremse continues to expand its innovation pipeline;
• Focus on zero emissions, redundancy and automated driving, connectivity, and traffic safety with concrete solutions for current and future market demands;
• Technological highlights in Hanover: Trade fair premiere of the oil-free eCompressor MTP Redundant Braking System (rGSBC) and Electric Power Steering (EPS) ahead of market launch in 2027.

Bernd Spies, Member of the Executive Board of Knorr-Bremse AG and responsible for the Commercial Vehicle Systems Division: “As a specialist in safety-critical systems, we support our customers on their journey toward zero emissions, automated driving, and connected commercial vehicles. Our innovation approach is clearly focused: less complexity, more impact. What is needed are solutions with measurable added value that can be flexibly integrated into different vehicle architectures. The current performance of our Truck Division clearly shows that we are investing in the right areas. We remain focused on driving growth and increasing content per vehicle, and we will present our innovation pipeline at IAA Transportation 2026.”

Trade Show Presence Featuring Groundbreaking Technologies for Tomorrow’s Mobility

At the IAA Transportation 2026 (iaa-transportation.com), Knorr-Bremse is continuing its sustainable booth concept and once again relying on high-quality, reusable containers. This reduces material usage and fosters ongoing customer engagement: as part of a truck roadshow, exhibits and content will be reused after the trade show. This high standard of sustainability is also embedded in Knorr-Bremse’s products and EcoDesign approach. The centerpiece of the exhibition stand is the Center Display, which guides visitors through Knorr-Bremse’s world of solutions using exhibits and digital applications. It demonstrates how market requirements such as Zero Emission, Redundancy and Automated Driving, Traffic Safety, and Connectivity are translated into concrete technologies.

Knorr-Bremse is unveiling a new product at the trade show: the cost-efficient oil-free, electrically driven Multi Tumble Piston (MTP) compressor, which is designed for an optimized lifecycle and scalable use with or without an inverter, and enables an efficient and quiet compressed air supply. Another trade show highlight is the redundant braking system (rGSBC), which is scheduled to go into series production in 2027. Based on the GSBC platform, it ensures highly available braking functions even in the event of a fault, thereby creating a key prerequisite for highly automated driving functions. Another product highlight is Electric Power Steering (EPS), which is scheduled for market launch next year. The electric power steering system reduces the steering system's energy consumption by up to 90 percent compared to conventional solutions, thanks to the “power-on-demand” principle. Knorr-Bremse is also focusing on future vehicle architectures and is specifically applying its system expertise to the development of Software Defined Vehicles as the basis for safe, flexible, and updatable vehicle concepts. With an aftermarket zone, Knorr-Bremse is expanding its trade show presence to include its growing range of offerings for fleet operators, workshops, and distributors, which are bundled in the CVS Service Platform.

Technological Responses to Change in the Commercial Vehicle Sector

Knorr-Bremse addresses the industry’s current challenges across four key themes:

• Zero Emission: Electrified powertrains require a new interplay of vehicle systems. Knorr-Bremse supports manufacturers in developing viable zero-emission vehicle concepts with solutions such as the energy-efficient disc brake family (SYNACT®), oil-free electric air supply (eCompressor MTP), and technologies to reduce emissions, such as brake dust (EURO 7) and noise.

• Redundancy and Automated Driving: Automated driving functions require fail-safe and redundant system architectures. Knorr-Bremse implements this with innovations such as the redundant braking system (rGSBC) and the electric steering system (EPS), as well as the redundant version (rEPS) for controlled vehicle guidance all the way up to mission-complete functions.

• Traffic Safety: Traffic safety is in Knorr-Bremse’s DNA and guides the company in the development and refinement of system solutions. Knorr-Bremse presents technologies on the path toward an accident-free future for road traffic, ranging from state-of-the-art braking systems to advanced driver assistance systems (Knorr-Bremse Fusion Front and Side ADAS), which actively help defuse dangerous situations and thus contribute to road safety.

• CVS Service Platform: With the forward-looking CVS Service Platform, Knorr-Bremse is further driving the transformation of the aftermarket. The platform will significantly increase the efficiency of all market participants through intelligently networked data and services. Key components include the multi-brand diagnostics and telematics solutions from Cojali, the booking and capacity management system PleaseFix, the data-driven workshop benchmarking from WESP CV, and the road services booking platform from TRAVIS. In the trailer sector, Knorr-Bremse is presenting the cloud-based Online Configuration Tool (OCT), the integrated Software Update Management System (SUMS), and, for the first time, the iXPAND port expander for premium vehicles with the most sophisticated E/E architecture.

Meet us at Knorr-Bremse: Hall 12, Booth C21

At IAA Transportation 2026, Knorr-Bremse will showcase technologies and solutions for the future of commercial vehicles from zero-emission and automated driving to digital services for fleet operations. The experts at Knorr-Bremse look forward to welcoming visitors in person at the booth from September 15 20, 2026, in Hanover, Hall 12, Booth C21.
