Group-IB, a leading creator of cybersecurity technologies to investigate, prevent, and fight digital crime announced today that it has entered a strategic partnership with the National Polytechnic University of Armenia (NPUA) (polytechnic.am) aimed at developing the next generation of cyber crimefighters and strengthening Armenia’s national cyber resilience.

Under the partnership, NPUA will leverage Group-IB’s predictive threat intelligence, digital forensics and incident response tools, and professional training programs to establish a long-term collaboration focused on cybersecurity education, applied research, and workforce development. Through this initiative undergraduates, postgraduates, and working professionals will receive Group-IB certification in cybercrime monitoring, investigation, and mitigation, and be equipped with to apply real-world investigative skills and directly contribute to strengthening Armenia’s national cybersecurity ecosystem.

Formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the collaboration brings together Group-IB’s adversary-centric focus and cybercrime fighting experience in combating sophisticated cyber threats with NPUA’s academic excellence to address both current and future cyber risks facing Armenia’s commercial and public sectors.

As part of the Memorandum of Understanding, Group-IB and the NPUA will collaborate on several strategic initiatives aimed at developing the next generation of cybersecurity professionals that will strengthen the cybersecurity posture at the commercial and national level in Armenia:

• Curriculum design and training: NPUA will integrate Group-IB’s industry-grade training modules, simulation labs, and real-world attack scenarios into its cybersecurity curriculum. Students will gain hands-on experience in predictive cyber threat and fraud intelligence, digital forensics and incident response, malware reverse engineering, and open-source intelligence (OSINT) skills essential for anticipating and disrupting cybercrime before it escalates.
• Research and innovation: Group-IB and NPUA will conduct joint research projects focused on emerging cyber threats, cyber fraud ecosystems, phishing and scam prevention, and the protection of critical digital infrastructure. The research will emphasize predictive and intelligence-driven defense models tailored to Armenia’s evolving threat landscape.
• Internships and practical training: NPUA undergraduates will have access to internships and practical training opportunities at Group-IB, enabling them to work alongside experienced cyber investigators and analysts. Group-IB will also support the establishment of a Cyber Crime Fighters Student Club and organize Capture the Flag (CTF) competitions to foster hands-on learning, teamwork, and investigative thinking.
• Knowledge exchange and faculty training: Group-IB will conduct joint workshops, seminars, and immersive training sessions for NPUA faculty, including practical exposure to Group-IB’s investigative methodologies, threat intelligence workflows, and real-world case studies.
• Access to Group-IB’s proprietary technologies: For teaching and research purposes, Group-IB will provide NPUA with royalty-free academic license for its secure, cloud-based platforms, valued at US$360,000, enabling students and faculty to work with the same tools used by Group-IB’s cybersecurity professionals in contributing to law enforcement operations across Digital Crime Resistance Centers (DCRCs) worldwide.

“This partnership with NPUA reflects Group-IB’s long-standing commitment to investing in people and building the next generation of cyber crimefighters. Cybersecurity today is no longer about reacting to incidents. It is about predicting adversary behavior and disrupting cybercrime ecosystems at scale. By embedding predictive intelligence and real investigative experience into academic programs, we are helping future professionals stay ahead of threats and protect national and commercial interests.” - Vasilisa Sergeeva - Chief Regional Officer, Central Asia, Group-IB

“Group-IB’s long-standing contributions to international law enforcement operations and its proven success in disrupting cybercriminal infrastructure make it a universally recognized leader in cybersecurity. Its leadership in predictive threat intelligence sets a benchmark for the industry, and this collaboration allows our students to learn directly from real-world investigations rather than theoretical models. By gaining access to Group-IB’s technologies, expertise, and methodologies, our students will be uniquely equipped with the skills and mindset required to anticipate threats, dismantle cybercrime operations, and succeed in demanding cybersecurity careers.” - Dr. Gor Vardanyan - Rector of NPUA
