During an industry event hosted by the Hong Kong Police Force (HKPF) (police.gov.hk) on 30 January 2026 at the Police Officers’ Club, Group-IB, a leading creator of cybersecurity technologies to investigate, prevent, and fight digital crime, was recognized for the continuation of its participation in the Hong Kong Cyber Security Action Task Force (CSATF), following HKPF’s decision to extend the initiative for an additional two years.
CSATF brings together public- and private-sector stakeholders to enhance cyber resilience, intelligence sharing, and coordinated responses to evolving cyber threats. Group-IB has been an active contributor to the Hong Kong CSATF since 2024, supporting joint efforts to address cybercrime and strengthen the city’s digital security ecosystem.
As part of the CSATF, Group-IB delivered actionable, intelligence-led insights covering both regional and global cyber threats. The company provided more than 20 dedicated threat intelligence reports to the Hong Kong Police Force, detailing threat actor tactics, techniques, and infrastructure either located in or actively targeting Hong Kong and the wider Asia-Pacific region. In addition to regional coverage, Group-IB analyzed global threat activity to assess emerging trends, understand threat evolution across regions, and forecast how cybercriminal and threat actor operations are likely to develop. This included assessments of anticipated attack methods, compromise techniques, and persistence mechanisms. Combined with intelligence contributed by other CSATF members, these insights supported coordinated disruption efforts and law enforcement actions against cybercrime actors.
This contribution is underpinned by Group-IB’s adversary-focused, predictive approach to cyber threat and fraud intelligence, which enables authorities and organizations to anticipate emerging risks and take preventive action before operational or financial impact occurs. This intelligence-led capability continues to support Group-IB’s long-term collaboration with public-sector stakeholders across the Asia-Pacific region.
