The new plant is designed to meet the highest environmental standards and support the planned capacity expansion of the facility’s pickling line. Commissioning is scheduled for late 2027.
The order value will not be disclosed. It is included in ANDRITZ’s order intake for the fourth quarter of 2025.
The plant will be capable of regenerating up to 6,340 l/h of waste acid, securing maximum reuse of spent acid in the pickling process and minimizing waste generation. The system will operate efficiently both at the current pickling capacity of 1,200, 000 metric tons per year and the future capacity of 1,800, 000 mtpy.
Tata Steel’s Project Manager Paul Boxer said: “The new plant will remove the need for importing vast quantities of acid from overseas and exporting the spent liquids. This is a big step to decarbonize our pickling operations.”

The scope of supply includes the design and supply of all mechanical and electrical equipment as well as supervision of installation and commissioning.
