A 24-Track Double Album Celebrating Rhythm, Culture, and Sonic Exploration
UK – Acclaimed drummer, composer, sound sculptor, and live music campaigner Phil Little announces the release of his sixth studio album, When The Ripples Overlap — a 24-track double album available worldwide on 31 July 2025.
Drawing from decades immersed in blues, jazz, world rhythms, and experimental soundscapes, Little’s latest work is a bold statement of creative freedom. Across two sides of music, When The Ripples Overlap explores connections between cultures, time, and emotional states — all anchored in the heartbeat of drums and percussion.
From the surging Afro-Cuban swells of “Rumba Del Monte” to the meditative elegance of “Tabla Mountain” and “Mbira For Nana”, and the driving groove of “Samba Riddim”, this is music that moves physically, spiritually, and globally.
“This album is about layers — of rhythm, memory, and spaces. It's what happens when you throw more than one stone into the pond, and the echoes begin to merge, when the ripples overlap,” says Little.
