The congress takes place in Tokyo and Kogen, Japan, from November 11-14, 2024. The themes of the four-day congress include general trends in recycling, circular economy and e-waste material. The event, which will host around 50 participants, also includes a plant visit to Dowa’s Kosaka Ausmelt® smelter in Akita prefecture, commissioned in 2007.

"The Ausmelt® TSL Licensees Congress offers a great opportunity to connect with fellow industry professionals and to delve into the latest advancements and trends in smelting. We are very pleased to host the event together with Kosaka Smelting & Refining (dowa-kosaka.co.jp) and look forward to many interesting discussions," says Piia Karhu, President of Metso’s Minerals business area.

“We are delighted to host this Congress in Japan and warmly welcome experts from around the globe to our Kosaka plant. The smelting industry plays a pivotal role in the circular economy and the pursuit of carbon neutrality, presenting both opportunities and challenges. We look forward to sharing our experiences and exchanging knowledge with all Congress guests,” says Kensaku Fukuda, President, Dowa Metals & Mining Co., Ltd.

The first International Ausmelt® TSL Licensees Congress was held in 2018 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. The Congress gathered participants from 20 companies and 13 countries around the world.

Backed by decades of experience, continuous process development, and more than 60 installations worldwide, the Metso Plus certified Ausmelt® TSL process provides an integrated and sustainable solution for an extensive range of feed materials.
