Building on more than 10 years of success, the two companies have agreed to extend their partnership for another decade, focusing on leading edge solutions that enhance efficiency and reduce costs for Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) organizations and airlines.
One of their notable achievements has been the development of a technical function for the MODEM power cut-off by default settings. This joint solution was specifically designed to reduce the complexity of certification processes. By automating the power cut-off, the need for multiple tests and exposure to radiation in aircraft has been significantly reduced. As a result, MROs and airlines have benefited from substantial savings on certification fees.
Looking ahead, Kontron and Lufthansa Systems are set to embark on a new project: the installation of the Cab-n-Connect A200 CWAP as part of an on-board connectivity solution for the European Aviation Network (EAN). This initiative will further enhance the capabilities of the EAN, providing unparalleled connectivity and operational efficiency for airlines across the region.
"Over the past decade, our partnership with Lufthansa Systems has been instrumental in delivering solutions that streamline operations and reduce costs for the aviation industry," said Jon Moseley, VP Business Development at Kontron. "This extended partnership marks a significant milestone in our relationship, underscoring our shared commitment to excellence and continued innovation.”
"We are thrilled to deepen our partnership with Kontron, leveraging our combined expertise to unlock new opportunities that will redefine the future of aviation technology," said Floris Reimbold, Head of Product Management & Delivery BoardConnect at Lufthansa Systems. "Together, we have already achieved remarkable success, and we are confident that the next decade will bring even greater advancements in connectivity for our customers."
