The end of 2022 saw TRUMPF complete the assimilation of software startup XETICS. Developers from XETICS are now focusing on using the startup’s solutions to enhance TRUMPF’s Oseon software. “The acquisition of XETICS marks an important step for TRUMPF on the road to consolidating its market leadership in digitally connected manufacturing,” says Philipp Dreiss, who founded XETICS in 2012 and now heads software development at TRUMPF Machine Tools. “Thanks to the technology and expertise of XETICS, we can now take Oseon to a new level.”
Cloud-based production planning
XETICS (xetics.de) is considered a pioneer in digital MES (Manufacturing Executive System) solutions. In particular, the company’s software packages give small and medium-sized companies the ability to digitally plan and control their production operations via apps from a cloud platform. Using XETICS solutions, Dreiss and his team have already been able to enhance TRUMPF’s Oseon software. Improvements include the addition of a new module for production planning, which is to be launched at INTECH.
The XETICS workforce, numbering around 30, is also transferring to TRUMPF. Employees from development will now support Dreiss’ team in the further enhancement of Oseon. Experts in consulting will strengthen Smart Factory Consulting GmbH, a company founded by TRUMPF at the end of 2022. “The addition of these new colleagues and this new technology puts TRUMPF in an ideal position to provide customers with a digitization solution that is perfectly tailored to their needs from the digital planning board to a complete smart factory,” says Dreiss.
