Mondi, a leading global packaging and paper company, has been named the winner of the risk and safety category for the second consecutive year at the annual Fastmarkets RISI PPI Awards 2021.
The awards celebrate leadership, vision, innovation and strategic accomplishments within the global pulp and paper industry. Mondi’s industry-leading work in risk and safety demonstrates the company’s progressive approach and contribution in this vital area for the industry.

Mondi has significantly invested in its safety at work approach, and currently implements social psychology of risk aspects to its efforts and focus. The revised approach ensures that the business considers not only the physical aspects of risk and safety but also the psychological as well as cultural elements including the impact of group dynamics. This approach includes a number of changes including shifting some of the focus from traditional safety talks to engagement sessions, development and use of role play and dialogue cards, gamification, on-line and face-to-face training sessions of social psychology of risk. It is this change of mind-set that the business believes will hold it in good stead in the future.
