• This new contract concerns approximately the replacement of 4000 card readers.
These new card readers will enable travelers to pay by mobile phone, bank card, credit card or QR code.
GVB (gvb.nl) choose the latest Thales technology and offers to their passengers to use card reader equipped with built-in barcode and EMV functions.
In total, this new contract concerns approximately 4000 card readers. The replacement will start in the first half of 2021. All card readers are planned to be replaced by the end of 2021.
The digital signing of the contract between Claudia Zuiderwijk, CEO GVB, and Jean-Philippe de Rek, managing director of Thales Revenue Collection Systems in the Netherlands, took place on 9 December.
