After a long‑term collaboration, Vestas and Hempel have recently extended their relationship to a strategic partnership focusing on developing innovative solutions for surface protection of wind turbines. As a part of the partnership, Hempel has identified multiple initiatives that can reduce both CO2 and waste at the Vestas site in Pueblo, Colorado. Understanding customers’ sustainability challenges, and providing concrete, data-driven improvements is a key part of Hempel’s new growth strategy, which is set to double Hempel in size in the next five years.
Lars Petersson, Group President & CEO, comments: “To receive this prize from Vestas, a true sustainability frontrunner, is a great honour, and an acknowledgment of Hempel’s aspiration of being the trusted sustainability partner for our customers.”
“It is a priority for us in Vestas to encourage our suppliers’ sustainability pursuits. We are impressed with Hempel’s commitment to finding more sustainable solutions and their long-term am-bition to drive change in their industry. For these reasons, we are pleased to award the Vestas Sustainability Award 2020 to Hempel,” says Lisa Ekstrand, Head of Sustainability at Vestas.
