ECM now lets you deploy dedicated nodes to process alerts across all these platforms while still managing the alerts of your existing on-premises data centers from a single pane of glass.
RightITnow ECM 5.5 is available immediately and introduces major new features highlighted here:
- Distributed Workers are additional ECM nodes that are deployed in the same environment as the Master ECM and are able to process events and alerts using the same rules and actions. By deploying additional workers, you can load balance the incoming stream of events, both from in-house monitoring point solutions like SolarWinds, Nagios and Microsoft SCOM as well as from public or private cloud instances like VMware ESX and Amazon AWS.
These nodes can work independently of the Master ECM, adding redundancy to the overall ECM environment and ensuring high availability and visibility into the system. Worker nodes also allow access to the Dashboard and Alerts Console, taking the load off the Master ECM in cases such as NoC displays and read-only access for upper management. Deploying additional nodes can also result in increased alert processing throughput for high-volume scenarios such as alert floods.
- A new Maintenance Manager presents a single pane view of all the maintenance windows for entities and entity groups. IT Operators can instantly start/stop maintenance windows via the UI or from their own scripts using new REST API calls.
This will greatly reduce the alert noise generated by routine maintenance operations.
- New REST-based ITSM connectors for JIRA 8 and ServiceNow (Madrid Release) to automatically generate incidents pre-populated with critical alert information for the service helpdesk department.
- New event connector for Zabbix 4 to join the ECM suite of event connectors for the IT enterprise.
