Lisbon, Portugal, 2020/06/03 - Vision-Box, along with key stakeholders and organisations from the travel industry, helped The World Travel & Tourism Council’s (WTTC) to launch a second phase of measures to rebuild global consumer confidence to encourage the return of travelling.

Throughout the world, private businesses, public institutions, governments and health authorities are vigorously working hand-in-hand to find safe and efficient solutions to get the travel sector functioning near normal conditions. Phase II measures will help to rebuild global consumer confidence and encourage the return of global travel in the post Covid-19 environment.

WTTC (wttc.org) stated that the Phase II protocols are designed to drive the return of a safe travel experience and enable airlines, tour operators, convention centers and events to begin operations and get back on its feet.
The aviation protocols were created in close collaboration with the International Air Transport Association (IATA), Airports Council International (ACI) and backed by the United Nations World Tourism Organization. The new measures will recognize businesses and governments worldwide that have adopted the protocols in order to enable confidence among travellers and encourage their return to global travel in a safe manner.
Additional and separate measures for the cruise sector and insurance businesses, amongst others, are currently in development. According to the WTTC’s 2020 economic impact report, the travel and tourism sector was responsible for one in 10, or about 330 million jobs in 2019 and made a 10.3 percent contribution to the global gross domestic product.
