F5 today announced a new regional Point of Presence (PoP) in Canada. Today’s announcement is a part of F5’s global expansion of PoPs to additional geographic locations to meet growing customer demand for its Silverline managed security services.
“We are very excited to be able to better serve our Canadian customers by offering efficient and cost-effective solutions that addresses their cybersecurity challenges,” said Pete Brant, Senior Vice President, Americas Sales at F5. “F5’s regional PoP in Canada provides core F5 technologies as managed services that will allow our customers to protect their applications and digital innovations against the most prevalent cyberattacks without the need to hire a team of security experts.”
As the risk landscape continues to expand and evolve, enterprises are often faced with challenges of legacy infrastructure and lack of appropriate skill sets to manage and mitigate different types of threats. According to a survey by the Canadian Internet Registration Authority, 71 percent of organizations in Canada reported experiencing a cyberattack in 2019. And with the adoption of the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), companies and government agencies are now specifically required to implement and manage security controls, as well as limit sensitive data from crossing Canadian borders.
“Like other developed countries, Canada is experiencing an increase in security incidents leading to business disruptions, data breaches, and fraud,” said Gail Coury, VP & GM, Silverline at F5. “With a local Silverline PoP, we are excited to be able to provide our Canadian customers advanced managed security services that protect their critical applications against cyberattacks cost-effectively and efficiently without latency issues.”
