F5 Networks announced today the opening of a new regional point of presence (PoP) in Sydney, Australia, as part of its aggressive global expansion strategy to deploy PoPs in additional geographic locations to satisfy growing customer demand for its Silverline Managed Services.
Further Regional PoP expansion is planned for Hong Kong by the second quarter of fiscal year 2020, with three additional strategic Regional PoP locations to be opened by the close of FY20.
With DDoS attacks predicted to reach 30,000 per month by 2020 in Australia alone, F5 is now extending its Silverline Web Application Firewall (WAF) and Silverline DDoS Protection to Australian customers, providing them with the ability to protect applications and web properties without upfront investments in IT infrastructure and support.
The new regional PoPs will provide improved application performance and reduced latency for even more customers, across additional regions, whose applications are secured by the Silverline Managed Services Platform.
