About Laser World of Photonics Munich 2019
The Laser World of Photonics (world-of-photonics.com) has long been the world’s leading industry laser fair and demonstrates innovative technologies using lasers. Starting in 1973, Munich has been home to the fair, which has witnessed participants from over 70 countries, every two years when the fair is held. The last event, held in 2017 provided an incredible 55,000 m² of exhibition space for the participants. 32,700 visitors graced the event, with the UK, USA, France, Russia and Japan being listed amongst the top 10 visitor countries.
These technologies have futuristic uses in the fields of medicine, processing materials, translation of optical data and various systems that deal with industrial applications. For example, cleaning of industrial surfaces is an area where lasers have been effectively applied as a low-cost technology, with a high degree of precision. The Munich event, scheduled for June 2019 promises to be an important destination for all components and applications of laser technologies.
How the 2017 event was received
The 2017 event was attended by 1,290 exhibitors from 42 countries. Of these, the largest participation came from China and the US. In fact, 23% and 21% of all exhibitors were from China and the US, respectively. Exhibitors found the 2017 event to be extremely inspiring and well organised, with 98% of participants promising to return in 2019. The event also witnessed heavy media coverage with 140 journalists attending from 16 different nations.
