ALM Intelligence – Consulting division, previously known as Kennedy Consulting, has released its 2018 ratings of Joint Ventures and Alliances consulting providers. Consulting to Joint Ventures & Alliances is a relatively new consulting discipline born as an alternative to more traditional mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. Joint ventures refers to a third party business created by two or more partnering companies with each owning some share of equity. An alliance is a non-equity structural agreement. Twenty-six firms were identified as leaders in the Joint Ventures and Alliances consulting industry, including: Boston Consulting Group, Deloitte, EY, KPMG, PwC, and Water Street Partners.
“Many of the same market drivers from last year are still in play, but with greater emphasis now on getting joint venture and alliance deals right up front,” said Tomek Jankowski, Senior Research Analyst at ALM Intelligence. “This is putting pressure on providers to have all the requisite expertise and resources technical, industry sector, geographic immediately available in-house, which in turn puts pressure on fees.”
Providers that attained challenger status include: Bain & Company, goetzpartners, Grant Thornton, ILO Consulting, Kaufman Hall, Map Asia Pacific Limited, North Highland, Open Options, Roland Berger, The Rhythm of Business, TayganPoint Consulting and Vantage Partners. Other firms that were rated include: A.T. Kearney, hu Consultancy, L.E.K. Consulting, Lincoln International, McKinsey & Partners, Navigator Consulting, Oliver Wyman, Quarton International, and Roland Berger.
