In the coming years, MAN Truck & Bus (mantruckandbus.com) will supply MAN TGE model van chassis to Knaus Tabbert Gmbh (knaustabbert.de) for the production of motorhomes. The vehicles will be manufactured at the Knaus Tabbert plant in Jandelsbrunn, Bavaria.
• Letter of Intent signed between the Knaus Tabbert Group and MAN Truck & Bus;
• Delivery of van chassis for motorhome production agreed;
• First vehicles will be at Caravan Salon 2018 in Düsseldorf.
In future, motorhome customers will have an alternative product in the premium segment. A letter of intent was signed with MAN Truck & Bus AG at the headquarters of Knaus Tabbert GmbH, a leading manufacturer of motorhomes, caravans, and camper vans. The letter of intent stipulates the supply of MAN TGE van chassis to Knaus Tabbert in the coming years. The plan is to ship a considerable volume of MAN TGE in 2019, and then successively increased the volume over the years. Knaus Tabbert Sales Director Gerd Adamietzki and Dennis Affeld, Senior Vice President Sales Van at MAN Truck & Bus GmbH, sealed the collaboration in Jandelsbrunn.
“We look forward to working with MAN and are confident that this will enable us to offer our customers more attractive vehicles in the future,” said Gerd Adamietzki at the signing of the letter of intent in Jandelsbrunn.
The first vehicles from the agreed co-production can be seen in Knaus Tabbert Hall 4 at this year’s Caravan Salon (25.8.-2.9.2018) in Düsseldorf. The excellent driving dynamics and assistance systems of the MAN TGE will now also be available to customers of Knaus motorhomes. Customers will further benefit from the range of drive types available: front, rear or four-wheel drive.
The collaboration between the two companies was announced at this year’s annual press conference, which was held in Bad Griesbach in May.
