FIS™, a global leader in financial services technology, announced today that its MyBanker personal banker agent has been named “Best of Challenge” in the 2018 PYMNTS.com Voice Challenge with Amazon Alexa.
The challenge, which ran January through March, invited companies to create a new skill built on the foundation of Amazon’s Alexa ecosystem for use on the Echo, Echo Show, smartphones, wearables and vehicles.
The FIS MyBanker skill uses friendly, conversational language to help users navigate through different aspects of their banking journeys, from buying a home, applying for a credit card or dealing with card fraud. The FIS skill leverages the power of the cloud to provide these personal banking services and to support multiple platforms, locations and situations.
“Alexa and voice software shouldn’t stand on an island when it comes to banking,” said Doug Brown, head of FIS Mobile. “The FIS MyBanker agent simplifies the consumer journey by using Alexa for virtual banking experiences.”
FIS’ winning submission video features a couple looking to buy a house. Using FIS MyBanker via Alexa, the couple searches home listings from their kitchen, chooses a house, connects to their bank and prequalifies for a loan. Then, as they drive to visit the home, MyBanker alerts them to a fraudulent charge on their credit card. They use MyBanker to order a new card and have it move money to their digital wallet so they can pay for gas on the way. Finally, after visiting the house, the couple uses MyBanker and Alexa to increase their preapproval loan amount so they can make their offer.
FIS also won the “Most Disruptive” award at the 2016 PYMNTS.com Alexa Challenge for an Alexa skill that helped millennials gain a more complete picture of the services banks can provide them.
