Omnitrol Networks today announced the first of a series of advanced webinars designed to help manufacturing, robotics, and mechanical engineering university staff integrate smart contact-less sensor-based network devices into factory floor operations using the OMNITROL application network appliance.
The drive for more operational visibility and intelligence has led to the rapid adoption of smart contact-less sensor-based network devices (RFID, WiFi, PLCs) on the operations floor. A new edge intelligent architecture is required to optimize this distributed manufacturing environment. This new architecture is enabling more service control and sophistication to operations management dealing with business innovations such as WIP traceability, real-time SCM, asset visibility, KPI dashboards, supplier collaboration, to name a few.
This first webinar from Omnitrol Networks is designed for university thought leaders who need to develop new advanced curriculum for system and control classes and who wish to offer their students hands-on experience with a state-of-the-art network-enabled application appliance. In the webinar, attendees will learn how universities can improve their curriculums by integrating smart devices into factory floor operations. Through the use of advanced simulation tools, the webinar will demonstrate how to create distributed smart assembly processes to power collaborative, real-time systems and controls.
Dr. Can Saygin, Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Director of the Manufacturing Systems and Automation (MSA) Laboratory at the University of Texas in San Antonio will present an overview of the MSA and share his experience with smart devices and edge appliances.
University and college participants will be eligible for a free 15 day on-line access workshop of the OMNITROL.
“Omnitrol Networks is very pleased to offer this free webinar to universities and colleges that are defining the tools, best-practices, and engineers for the factory of the future,” said Raj Saksena, president and CEO of Omnitrol Networks.
The first webinar will take place on Wednesday April 25th, 11am EDT. Register by sending an email to edu[.]omnitrol.com
