• Total of 32 new TG-series MAN vehicles delivered to two Serbian state-owned enterprises;
• Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) acquires 22 MAN TGM, TGS and TGX models for open-pit coal mining in Kolubara;
• Public utility company BEOGRAD-PUT acquires 10 MAN TGS models with winter service equipment.
At the end of last year, MAN Truck & Bus Importer for Serbia and Montenegro handed over a total of 32 MAN TG-series trucks to state electricity supplier Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) (eps.rs) and public utility company BEROGRAD-PUT. In the future, the TGM, TGS and TGX models will be used for coal mining, in addition to road maintenance and repair work.
With the new vehicles for the fleets of electricity supplier, EPS and road maintenance service BEOGRAD-PUT, DEWACO Beograd (MAN Truck & Bus importer for Serbia and Montenegro) has once again supplied two state-owned enterprises that are important for Belgrade’s infrastructure.
MAN TGM, TGS and TGX for Lignite Mining
Belgrade-based Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) is Serbia’s largest power company with approximately 30,000 employees. In addition, the group is the country’s largest lignite producer with its open-pit mines in the Kolubara Basin southwest of Belgrade. In the future, the new vehicles will also be used in the mining area in Kolubara.
This will include MAN TGM 13.250 4x4 BB four-wheel box trucks with all-wheel drive, which will shuttle the workers across the extensive, almost impassable open-pit minefields. At the same time EPS has acquired MAN TGS 41.480 8x6 BB tipper trucks, along with one MAN TGX 33.540 6x4 BLS for transporting equipment. There are currently 40 new MAN trucks running in the EPS fleet in Kolubara, making the latest 22 vehicles the third batch that DEWACO Beograd has been able to deliver to EPS within the last two years.
MAN TGS as Flexible Winter Service Vehicles
BEOGRAD-PUT is responsible for over 2,100 miles (over 3,500 km) of roads in and around Belgrade. This public service provider has relied on MAN Truck & Bus (mantruckandbus.com) for more than 20 years and owns over 60 vehicles with special equipment for winter services. The latest additions to the fleet are 10 MAN TGS 33.440 6x4 BB tippers with front snowploughs and gritting bodies.
Thanks to their body-swap system, it is quick and simple to dismount the bodies, allowing the TGS models to be used purely as tippers outside of the winter months and perform a variety road maintenance tasks.
