MedcomSoft Inc. (TSX-MSF), a provider of the next generation of interoperable electronic health records (EHR), today announced that quarterly sales of MedcomSoft Record licenses continue to surpass fiscal 2006 levels as the Company’s growth in sales occurs across the country and among numerous specialties.
Since January 2007, MedcomSoft Record has been acquired by practices located in Florida, Louisiana, Texas, New York, Iowa, Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania in various specialties, including family practice, pediatrics, OB/GYN, oncology, pain management, internal medicine, nephrology, psychology and neurology.
Included within the practices that have acquired MedcomSoft Record are four leading practices within the approximately 140 member New York Presbyterian Hospital’s Community Physician Group at Columbia University Medical Center. Following an exhaustive evaluation, the four practices that make up the Community Physicians of New York – Presbyterian at Columbia University Medical Center integrated health information technology pilot group agreed to acquire MedcomSoft Record. “In keeping with the New York – Presbyterian Hospital’s leading edge reputation in healthcare information technology the hospital’s community physicians HIT pilot group set lofty goals in the areas of clinical documentation and interoperability,” said Gabriel Guardarramas, M.D., M.P.H., Chairman, Community Physicians of New York – Presbyterian at Columbia University Medical Center. “While a number of vendors offered the front end functionality we were looking for, MedcomSoft paired the functionality/workflow we required with a system infrastructure that was functionally different and better suited to support our documentation / interoperability goals. We felt the MedcomSoft system infrastructure would give our member physicians a strategic advantage, securing both our project goals and our investment well into the future.”
