NetFortris, Inc., a leader in secure cloud-based communication solutions, today announced the acquisition of Fonality, Inc., an innovator in software defined unified communications as a service (UCaaS) solutions. The combination of the two companies will meet the growing needs of a converging IT and communications market by providing customers with security, network management and a state of the art UCaaS solution in one bundle.
The addition of the Fonality suite of cloud-based UCaaS solutions to NetFortris’ current service offering will result in best-of-breed enterprise communications solutions and managed network services. The expanded solutions suite will better serve customer needs throughout the technology stack.
The combined company will have operating centers in three countries and provide services to more than 11,000 customers and 300,000 end users in 41 countries. Headquarters will be divided between the Seattle and Dallas offices, and NetFortris CEO Grant Evans will maintain leadership of the new company.

NetFortris’ lead investor is Spire Capital and is joined by Azure Capital, DFJ and Intel Capital as the primary investors in the company.
Dentons US LLP served as legal counsel to NetFortris and Spire Capital. AGC acted as exclusive financial advisor to Fonality, while Perkins Coie LLP served as legal counsel.
