Sonus Networks, Inc., a global leader in secure and intelligent Cloud communications announced today that the Sonus SBC 5110, SBC 5210 and SBC 7000 are now Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 140-2 validated. With this validation, these Sonus products enable government and other regulated customers to utilize its SBCs to secure mission-critical communications.
FIPS 140-2 certification is administered by the Cryptographic Module Validation Program. This program is operated jointly by the United States National Institute of Standards and Technology and the Communications Security Establishment of Canada to specify the level of security needed to protect sensitive government data in computer and telecommunication systems.
Sonus’ FIPS-validated SBCs are designed to help enterprises, service providers and government agencies securely maintain the privacy and integrity of the real-time communications traffic passing through their networks. In addition to security, Sonus’ SBCs and policy products also provide contextual network intelligence, ensure high-quality voice and video communications and reduce costs through a more efficient IP-based network architecture.
