NAKIVO Inc., a fast-growing software company for protecting virtualized and cloud environments, has announced today that CampusLan Software GmbH - a German IT services company for educational institutions - has gained twenty new customers with NAKIVO’s VMware backup solution.
CampusLan Software GmbH offers IT services to educational institutions throughout Germany and neighboring countries. Over the last 14 years, the company has delivered hardware, software, IT infrastructure consulting, and support services to many educational institutions.
“For many years we have focused on developing software for schools in cooperation with experienced educators,” says Christina Drosten, Partner Manager at CampusLan Software GmbH. “We are now delivering our own product called Cala vCe, which enables managing single-site and multi-site school networks, as well as provide third-party software in order to offer our customers a holistic approach.”
Most of the CampusLan customers have virtualized their IT infrastructure. However, while most customers are aware of the advantages of virtualization data protection, not all were able to achieve those benefits because their existing legacy backup solutions lacked in terms of efficiency and effectiveness. Moreover, as CampusLan is mainly focused on the educational market, pricing also plays an important role, as the budget of many schools is often very limited.
It was important for CampusLan to offer their customers a data protection solution that could provide a complete backup feature set for VMware environments and fit the needs of the customers in terms of performance, reliability, and pricing. Moreover, the solution would need to be simple to install and easy to manage, because most customers are small schools, who do not have extensive IT resources.
CampusLan came across NAKIVO Backup & Replication in their search for a partner in the virtualization backup market. “NAKIVO Backup & Replication is extremely simple and easy to implement in customer environments,” says Christina. “The whole process from deployment and configuration, to completing VM backups normally takes a couple of hours and can then be managed by most customers, even if they don’t have much experience.”
NAKIVO Backup & Replication provides the ability to create backups on demand and on schedule; backups can be stored locally, offsite, and in private and public clouds. NAKIVO Backup & Replication supports Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, MS SQL, Oracle, and other applications and databases that customers can back up. Moreover, NAKIVO Backup & Replication can dramatically reduce the amount of space used by VM backups with the help of compression and deduplication.
All CampusLan customers were satisfied with NAKIVO Backup & Replication and its performance. “The customer’s feedback is that the product is easy to manage and that they face less technical problems in comparison to other backup solutions. NAKIVO Backup & Replication is user friendly, offers fast and reliable VM backup, and fits the budget,” says Christina.
“We have been selling NAKIVO for quite some time now and achieved the Gold Partner status recently. We have a strong motivation to expand our and NAKIVO’s business in the educational market,” says Christina.

In terms of technical support, responses are very fast, which helps us answer the questions from our customers in a very quick manner,” says Christina.

Also, NAKIVO provides us with their own leads for the educational market, which we were able to turn into real opportunities,” says Christina. “All leads provided by NAKIVO are now also customers of CampusLan.”
