To mark the 56th anniversary of Tourism Vietnam, the Vietnam Tourism Awards 2016 ceremony was held at the Opera House in Hanoi, hosted by the Acting Prime Minister, Vu Duc Dam, and organized by the National Tourism Administration together with the Vietnam Tourism Association. During the awards, the Meliá Hanoi Hotel was named one of the ten best 5-star hotels in Vietnam.
The awards acknowledge the efforts made and contribution to the positive development of Vietnamese tourism, an industry which is making an increasingly large contribution to the country's GDP and job creation, and which aims to become a key industry for the national economy. The award has been made possible thanks to the luxurious facilities at the hotel and, in particular, the excellent quality and professional service.
Meliá Hanoi was the first hotel operated by Meliá Hotels International in Vietnam and has become an essential asset for Company growth in the country. The Company also operates the Meliá Danang, and this year plans to open the Sol Beach House Phu Quoc, the first hotel under the Sol Hotels & Resorts brand in Vietnam. The Company continues to focus on growth in Asia Pacific, where it plans to open an additional 22 hotels with over 5,000 rooms over the next few years.
The Meliá Hanoi Hotel has been open since 1998, becoming the first Spanish-run hotel in Vietnam, a distinction it still retains to this day. It is located in the heart of the Vietnamese capital and provides 301 luxury rooms and an extensive range of facilities that make it the perfect choice for both business and leisure travellers, also offering dining options which invite gourmets to enter a world of culinary delights, with a wide selection of international theme buffets in the El Patio Restaurant and regional flavours and specialties in El Oriental.
After 18 years in operation, it remains the hotel of choice for a large number of international business travellers.
