IBM today announced it has completed the acquisition of EZ Legacy Ltd (EZSource), an application discovery and understanding company that helps developers understand and visualize software to more easily modify mainframe applications. Financial details were not disclosed.
Together, EZSource (ezsource.com) and IBM (ibm.com) will enable clients to unlock billions of lines of application code residing on z Systems to help accelerate companies’ adoption of hybrid cloud. The combination can help developers identify and change parts of applications that are candidates to connect into the hybrid cloud via application programming interfaces (APIs). IBM’s strength in digital transformation, API Economy, hybrid cloud and enterprise DevOps is complimented by EZSource’s capabilities to understand and analyze applications. The infusion of EZSource’s technology into the z Systems portfolio will help clients more rapidly discover new ways to take advantage of the mainframe.
