The main goals of the modernization are to increase capacity by 30 % and to improve quality.

Voith will rebuild the wire section and deliver new drives for the dryer section. The rebuild is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2016. The board machine will be able to produce 130,000 t/y of Corrugated Medium and Testliner from OCC in a basis weight range of 90 200 g/m2.

Key reasons for Grigeo Klaipėdos Kartonas AB in selecting Voith as its supplier were the many successful rebuilds the company has carried out, along with its competence in manufacturing board and packaging paper. Voith was able to demonstrate and implement this impressively in the project phase.

Grigeo Klaipėdos Kartonas AB established in 1898 (grigeo.lt) is one of the oldest companies in Lithuania. Since beginning of 2010 it belongs to the Lithuanian Grigeo Grigiškės group. This rebuild of the board machine is the first step of a three-phased investment program, to double the production capacity within the next three to five years.
