OneLogin, the identity management provider bringing speed and integrity to the modern enterprise, today announced that Frontline Technologies, a leading provider of cloud-based K-12 software that empowers more than 7,500 school districts and millions of educators, selected OneLogin to provide single sign-on (SSO) and Virtual LDAP (VLDAP) support to its large remote workforce.
Well known for its Aesop HR absence management solution for K-12 school districts nationwide, Frontline Technologies faced a workforce management challenge driven by its rapid growth and multiple corporate acquisitions. How to manage distributed teams, and to on-board, cross-board, and off-board remote employees quickly, efficiently and securely created a compelling need for a leading cloud authentication solution. Additionally, they were looking for a solution that could tie in both Office 365, as well as Active Directory, where all their user identities were stored.
After a thorough review of competitive offerings, Frontline selected OneLogin in part for the portfolio of over 4,000 pre-integrated web apps in its catalog. User setup for the apps with single sign-on (SSO) provisioning through SAML was fast, easy, and secure. For those applications that don’t have provisioning built in, OneLogin’s VLDAP functionality sharply reduced the time it took to provision users.
Frontline uses a cloud-based, mobile device management (MDM) solution to manage its users’ Apple computers remotely, and OneLogin’s VLDAP service to authenticate employees to the cloud portal for self-service.
Frontline also uses VLDAP to protect the integrity of Active Directory by extending its functionality to a virtual server for secure user authentication in the cloud.
OneLogin delivered time savings during corporate acquisitions by automating the synchronization of identities from the acquired firm into Frontline’s Active Directory domain. Other time savings have come from letting Frontline setup all new users remotely with a standardized process.
“The biggest difference in terms of security is being able to disable departing employees through SSO in real-time,” said Tardio. “Mobile devices stop authenticating to our cloud-based applications, so if someone wanted to access one of those apps, they wouldn’t be able to do that. OneLogin automates security, which is a big priority for us.”
