For the third consecutive year, The Mixing Bowl presents Food IT, under the theme “Solution Harvest”. Action-oriented entrepreneurs, industry players, investors, and representatives from leading global food and ag innovation hubs will gather at our event.
The event will include three main activities:
Collaborative Exercise - Learning Through Challenges & Levers:
In conjunction with our programming partners, Forbes and the FEED Collaborative of Stanford d.School, we will explore the application of information technology to food and agriculture, addressing real world “challenges” facing food producers, and the potential use of IT as “leverageable” solutions in this collaborative engagement.
The Blender - Business Pitch Competition: A select batch of start-up tech companies in the Food and Ag sectors will compete for the annual Golden Blender Award, judged by a panel of seasoned venture capitalists.
Innovation Marketplace: Food and Ag sector companies that have developed innovative products or services that are seeking to scale or gain market traction will present their offerings in a hands-on fashion.
Event details:
July 12th at the Computer History Museum, Mountain View, California
Time: 8:30 am - 7:00pm
General Admission: paid tickets discount codes can be applied.
At Food IT: Solution Harvest; through knowledge sharing sessions and collaborative exercises we will look at how information technology can address challenges in farming and ranching, improve food literacy in food service and support the success of smaller food producers in the kitchen and in the field. We will also explore how the "internet of food" can create new business models and improve food safety and transparency.
“We are excited to have a diverse group of thought leaders from the food, ag, and tech sectors gathering for this action-oriented event. This is a tremendous opportunity to explore the application of technology to address the challenges throughout our food ecosystem” said Rob Trice, The Mixing Bowl’s founder.

The Mixing Bowl
First conceived in 2013 in Silicon Valley, The Mixing Bowl stimulates the adoption of IT innovation in the food and agriculture industries through business-focused dialogue between existing industry players, start-ups, investors, and other food innovators.
It aims to foster strong bonds between the IT innovation ecosystem and the Food & Ag sectors, as well as develop strong ties between Food & Ag innovation hubs within California, across the US, and expand throughout the globe.
