The lights will shine on Yenny Stromgren, local photographer and Noosa Resident in September. Her “Everyday Light Warriors” photographic portrait exhibition will showcase at The J in Noosa Junction from 1-30 September, 2016, to shine a light on the amazing inspiration, wisdom and positivity that we all come into contact with in our every day lives, sometimes without realising.
When Yenny Stromgren started shooting portraits of local residents to find her own happiness, she had no idea she would also capture the hearts of iTunes podcast enthusiasts seeking inspiration, life purpose, wellbeing and positivity.
Sparked by inspiration and intuition, Yenny was struck with the idea to find out more about the story behind the image her camera captured, and began to interview her subjects.
“We all have our struggles in life” said Yenny. “But the people I photographed and talked to told me how their story of overcoming life struggles has helped them to become stronger and shine their light through the hardship. I just knew I had to share their stories to help others.”
What started out as a personal photographic project which Yenny says was “selfish thing to boost my mood”, quickly lifted Yenny into international talk show stardom. After just one week post-launch in May 2016, the “Everyday Light Warriors” podcast was trending globally, gaining iTunes “news and noteworthy” status in the Society and Culture section.
Yenny interviews and photographs every day people ranging from musicians, comedians, wellness coaches and authors to integrative doctors and journalists. Her podcast topics include wellbeing, eating well, exercise and meditation, through to inspirational cancer and trauma survival stories, overcoming depression and mental health issues. The podcast comes complete with a good dose of inspiration, useful resources from the interviewees, and helpful hints and tips the audience can use to shine their own light in the world.
