The Guess Corporation announced today that it plans to develop a multi-billion dollar National Security Park in Durham, North Carolina. The company is retaining a brokerage firm for site selection and will begin soliciting partners for the development. The National Security Park will be setup to address the security challenges facing the United States of America and its allies and will operate as a non-profit research and innovation body. The National Security Park will consist of a five building campus, housing a bio-terrorism research center, infectious disease research center, cybersecurity research center, sustainability research center and energy research center.

"The National Security Park being developed by The Guess Corporation is aimed at creating a permanent forum for the exchange and implementation of ideas that will seek to provide perpetual protection for the freedom, peace, health and prosperity for the citizens of the United States of America," stated Mariah Graves, president of The Guess Corporation.

The National Security Park will be managed by The Guess Corporation but operated by a non-profit organization to be formed with member partners. The Guess Corporation with partners will acquire the land for the park and will lease it back to the National Security Park. Corporations and universities are being considered for partners. In addition to the National Security Park, there will be a mixed-use development surrounding the park. The Guess Corporation expects the National Security Park to result in the creation of 10,000 jobs. The company plans to break ground on the park by October 2016 and have the park completed and functioning by November of 2017.
