Magdeburg, Germany, 2016/04/12 - On March 8th Lahmeyer Hydroprojekt, headquartered in Weimar in Germany, acquired 100 % of the Magdeburg-based Spezialbau Engineering GmbH - SBE-jenrich.de / Lahmeyer.de.

The acquisition of Spezialbau Engineering took place with commercial effect on January 1st, 2016. With this acquisition, Lahmeyer expands further its expertise in the fields of civil engineering and waterways.
As a consulting, planning and site supervising engineering company, Spezialbau Engineering GmbH (sbe-jenrich.de) operates in the fields of steel structures, bridge construction, conveyors and mechanical engineering, as well as hydraulic steelwork. Engineering services such as structural design and building inspections are also carried out by Spezialbau Engineering in Germany. With approximately 25 employees, the company achieved a turnover of 1.7 million Euros in 2015. Current projects include the Niederfinow Shiplift, various navigation locks at the Neckar River, conveying systems for transport of bulk materials, as well as the bascule bridge Rethe in Hamburg. The managing director of Spezialbau Engineering Dr.-Ing. Holger Jenrich and his experienced staff will continue to serve their clients in the future.
Lahmeyer Hydroprojekt GmbH is an engineering company active in planning, design, and consulting. Lahmeyer Hydroprojekt specialises in hydraulic engineering and has its headquarters located in Weimar, with additional offices in Dresden, Munich and Bad Vilbel. The company was founded in 1978 and is part of the Lahmeyer Group since 1990. Lahmeyer Hydroprojekt has more than 110 employees covering the entire range of engineering services from a project's initial idea, on through to project planning, design construction supervision and commissioning. With the acquisition of Spezialbau Engineering, Lahmeyer Hydroprojekt expands its range of services in the fields of steel structures, bridge construction, conveyors and mechanical engineering, as well as hydraulic steelwork, and thus consolidates its market position, especially in waterway engineering in Germany. This acquisition adds to the expansion of the group. Since December 2014 Lahmeyer belongs to Tractebel, and thus is part of ENGIE.
