Jennifer Braster, managing partner of Maupin·Naylor·Braster, Attorneys at Law, was appointed to the board of directors for Hearts Alive Village Las Vegas. Hearts Alive Village is a non-profit whose mission is to find loving and stable homes for dogs and cats at risk of being lost in the shelter system.
“Jennifer is an important part of our organization, so inviting her to join our board of directors was a natural fit,” said Christy Stevens, Founder and President of Hearts Alive Village. “Her legal expertise and knowledge of animal law make her a valuable resource for an animal rescue organization like ours. She truly cares about animals and how they are treated in our community.”
Braster has volunteered with Hearts Alive Village for about a year. When she formed the Women’s Business Council of Southern Nevada earlier this year, she and co-founder Laura Hess also named the organization its non-profit partner.
Braster is joined on the Hearts Alive Village board by Stevens, Hess, Sheryl Greenblatt, Veronica Selco, Kelly McMahon, Samantha Jarvis, and Joe Wittenwiler.
Braster co-founded the animal law section of the Nevada State Bar Association in 2010. “I want to give a voice to pet owners that need someone to advocate for them,” she said. In her work with Animal Law, Braster also represented the organization No Kill Las Vegas in its efforts to make Southern Nevada a “no kill” community.
