A sports enthusiast from Byron Bay has designed a free service for sports lovers along the lines of Google and Hotmail. It has already received a tick of approval from the Australian NSW Dept. of Sport and Recreation.
"The service is a combination of free software and a free website. The software builds competitions, sets dates, times and referees etc, then at the push of a button emails out timetables and uploads fixtures and results onto the website. The web pages can be linked into the club’s existing site or accessed directly." spokesperson Des Mayblom said.
Whether it is football or fishing, tennis or cricket, a Sunday afternoon get together or a district competition with multiple divisions and age groups, the program can help secure sponsorship and address the following issues:
1. Reducing costs
2. Reducing the load on the organizers
3. Improve the quality of the competition (from the national level down)
4. Keeping players and officials informed
The easy to use software does the following:
a/ Automatically builds round robin tournaments (supports multiple divisions), sets times and locations, prints game sheets etc.
b/ Tracks game details such as player bookings, injuries, best and fairest.
c/ Integrates email (timetables, news etc), with support for sponsorship.
d/ Uploads timetables and results onto the web at the push of a button.
e/ Networks with other clubs (email teams, news etc)
Des went on to say, “In the future we will be working to increase a clubs ability to raise sponsorship. We will also be looking at ways to promote organized competitions for kids living in disadvantage to increase their self esteem and develop sportsmanship".
