Dialogic, a global networking software and infrastructure solution provider, announced today that NewNet Communication Technologies has selected Dialogic® PowerMedia™ XMS media processing solution to support the virtualization for certain VoltDelta-hosted call center voice applications. VoltDelta was acquired by NewNet in late 2014.
“Virtualization is delivering increased operational efficiency and cost effectiveness for VoltDelta and NewNet,” said Yusuf Bulan, General Manager of VoltDelta. “We are delighted with the performance of the Dialogic platform in supporting the transformation of our OnDemand cloud contact center solution to a virtualized software-as-a-service delivery model. The Dialogic platform has enabled us to deliver core contact center capabilities such as call recording, call conferencing, in-queue announcements, and IVR call routing applications, while allowing us to rapidly introduce next-generation applications such as the processing of video calls via SIP.”

Moreover, PowerMedia XMS supports other key functionalities such as message session relay protocol (MSRP) for enhanced texting and WebRTC voice (Opus), and video codecs (VP8 and VP9), which can enable additional future services on the same platform. PowerMedia XMS is fully software-based and is on a path to support network functions virtualization (NFV) as more service providers build it into their cloud infrastructures for operational and capital expenditure savings.
