The AEgis Technologies Group, Inc., an innovative provider of solutions, technologies and services, is proud to announce their role as a key subcontractor to Riptide Software on their award of a five-year $47 million contract by the United States Marine Corps (USMC) to continue its support of the Combined Arms Command and Control Trainer Upgrade System (CACCTUS) program. This is Riptide’s second CACCTUS award from the USMC, who previously awarded Riptide Software the CACCTUS contract in 2011 for $44 million.
CACCTUS immerses trainees in a realistic, scenario-driven environment which enables commanders to rehearse tactics prior to any physical engagement across live, virtual and constructive training networks.
“This award reaffirms AEgis’ leadership role in developing and fielding Battlestaff Training Systems for the US military, as AEgis also serves as the Prime on the Air Force Modeling & Simulation Training Toolkit (AFMSTT) for the US Air Force as well as serving as key subcontractor on the Constructive Training Systems (CTS) contract for the US Army,” said Brian Holmes, AEgis Vice President of Orlando Operations.
Riptide leads an accomplished team, comprised of Leidos, General Dynamics Mission Systems, AEgis Technologies, AVT Simulation and Phoenix Logistics, Inc., that will continue to provide Post Deployment Software Support (PDSS) for CACCTUS sites, while continuing to improve CACCTUS to ensure the system reaches Full Operational Capability (FOC) through innovations offered by “Team CACCTUS”. AEgis currently provides the Modus three-dimensional (3D) stealth view to CACCTUS, and will be responsible on the new contract for providing and integrating next-generation visual solutions that will meet the FOC requirements.
Barry Clinger, CTO of Riptide Software, described AEgis’ contributions to this effort. “AEgis is critical to the CACCTUS Team and Riptide’s technology insertion plan for CACCTUS. We are very happy with USMC’s decision to retain Riptide as the CACCTUS provider allowing us to continue the journey we started four years ago. We believe we can apply our expertise in emerging technology areas, like cloudbased computing and advanced learning systems, to further the capabilities of CACCTUS and ultimately provide the Marines with unparalleled training.”
