One of the world's most popular open source content management systems (CMS) used for everything from websites to blogs to custom apps to Intranets, announced the availability of Joomla 3.4.3 of its content management system on July 2, 2015. This is a maintenance release that has come quickly on the heels of version 3.4.2 which was released June 30, 2015. The 3.4.3 release fixes some issues with the 3.4.2 version that may affect some installed systems depending upon the features used.
"Open Source is growing at a rapid pace, -- a broader audience means it's more important than ever that maintenance releases be as simple, secure, stable and straightforward as possible," said Robert Deutz, Production Leadership Team member -- Production Leadership Team (PLT): responsible for coordinating the production of the Joomla CMS and Framework, including code, documentation, localization and releases.
Details of release include:
• Case sensitive renaming of an important file;
• System warnings from Smart Search feature;
• Issue affecting extensions on multilingual sites;
• Issue affecting default access level on new item creation;
• Display issue of a drop down menu when using batch feature.
Nine issues were rapidly fixed through the dedication of seven members of the Joomla.org Production Leadership Team.
The next major version of Joomla, version 3.5 is expected to be released in September 2015. Roland Dalmulder with help from George Wilson will lead the version 3.5 release. Roland is leader of the Joomla Bug Squad, and both are members of the Production Leadership Team (PLT).
