The Reason, Individualism, Freedom (RIF) Institute is inviting retired and working adults to save the date for The Great Connections Seminar in Chicago this fall, October 1-4, 2015. By participating in the three-day seminar, adults will join an intellectually challenging and rewarding seminar devoted to exploring the greatest works of all time entirely for their own satisfaction and pleasure.
RIF Institute is offering this seminar in response to many working and retired adults who have wanted to join The Great Connections Summer Seminars, many expressing that they wish they had gone to a school like RIF Institute and wondering if they can still join an intellectual environment like it even though they’ve been out of school for many years. RIF Institute President Marsha Enright says that “this interest proves to me that, regardless of age, people desperately crave lifelong education the kind that’s intellectually stimulating, enriching, and rewarding.”
With the weekend Great Connections Seminar, now working adults can return to college and experience the ideas, books, thinkers, and intellectual stimulation reminiscent of their college days, or the curiosity and enlightenment that was missed out on the first time around. Offering a mix of challenging readings, provocative discussions, and entertaining and informative excursions to Chicago’s cultural attractions, there is a diverse schedule to entertain all the faculties. There are no tests, no assignments, no other pressures just the pure enjoyment of intellectual inquiry and dialogue. Residing at an attractive downtown location, surrounded by great restaurants and stunning sights, it will be like an intellectual vacation.
“I don’t know about you, but when I went to college I was looking for a deeply exciting and enlightening experience of learning,” says RIF Institute President Marsha Enright. “Do you ever look back and wish you could return to college? To recapture the joy and excitement of learning or capture now the kind of learning you may have missed? Well here’s a second chance!”
At The Great Connections, participants will benefit from the same distinctive learning method, absorbing curriculum, and top-notch faculty that has won rave reviews from the students who have participated in RIF Institute’s undergraduate events every summer over the last six years. Creating an atmosphere of enjoyable collaboration from RIF Institute’s specially crafted, evidence-based discussion methodology in which reason is the only authority, participants will come away enlightened, with their powers of reasoning and first-hand judgment strengthened. “And the best part is,” says RIF Institute President Marsha Enright,“you will forge ‘great connections’ with the other fascinating people who will be attending. This gives you a network of like-minded peers and friends to keep for many years after.”
This announcement gives adults the chance to save October 1-4 on their calendars for The Great Connections Seminar. More details as to location and schedule will be forthcoming. The Great Connections seminar this October will be similar to those adult seminars RIF Institute held in 2010 in Chicago, and 2013 in Buenos Aires and San Jose, which were resounding successes.
