ScreenGlu's GH4 guide is a transparent film which adheres to the camera’s swivel LCD display and provides unobtrusive lines within which cinematographers can frame their shots. The main benefit being that now shooters will not be losing important elements of their composition or essential video status information on the LCD. ScreenGlu is accurate in Cinema 4K, UHD 4K and HD modes.
"I was looking for a solution that would enable me to frame my shots accurately on the GH4 but couldn't find any on the internet but instead was reading horror stories about people using sharpies to draw on the screen or tape to mask off the area concerned, neither of which are professional or good for a camera you just spent a lot of money on," says ScreenGlu's founder Owen Hunte. "So I started developing a solution by measurement and lots of trial and error until finally I got s solution that's addresses the problem and also looks professional."
ScreenGlu is simply applied to the screen with the aligning indicators alined to the corners of the picture image when it has been applied properly. Although ScreenGlu is removable, it is recommended to leave it permanently on the LCD to protect the screen. Additionally, ScreenGlu does not invalidate the warranty due to hacking or tampering, looks professional and importantly gives users an accurate indication of how to frame their video to eventually apply the 2.35/2.39 widescreen mattes in post production.
ScreenGlu is available directly from the ScreenGlu website and is currently on sale for the introductory price of US$20 instead of the usual price of US$30.
