Photography School Asia was created by one of Asia’s legendary photographers, Jonathan Taylor. The simple premise being there is no one else at his level of accomplishment running a photography school in Southeast Asia. Whilst photography workshops are massively popular in Europe and Australia there is nothing similar in Bangkok. Thailand is a destination popular with photography enthusiasts because of the amazing depth of cultural influences, scenic beauty and vibrancy in the region, all great for wonderful photography.
Photography School Asia caters for this type of traveler, not by running conventional so called “photography tours”, of which there are many but don’t actually teach much about the subject. But real uniquely designed photography courses, adapted for each student or private group. The lesson take place in either Bangkok or further a field, including the rest of Thailand, Cambodia and Laos, When learning you will also experience Asia in great depth.
The school is opening a gallery space too, where students work will be displayed regularly. This gallery will also host regular Photography Workshops, run by Jonathan and other notable guest photographers.
Large international aid organizations are also sending there out-reach workers and communication officers to learn at the school. Whilst many of these workers are required to photograph the organization’s different projects, most of them have never been trained in photography.
The student feedback has been tremendous too, here are some example of the testimonials received from Photography School Asia’s students:
“This course really opened my eyes up to the region. Jonathan is not only an excellent teacher, patient and a total master of his trade, he is also a great guide to the region. I am very grateful for the opportunity his course gave."
George Madley, Laos and Back
"I have been on two photography tours in Thailand before finding Photography School Asia. Where as the traditional photography holiday or photography course in Southeast Asia are taught or guided by a little known photographer who isn’t interested in actually teaching photography as much as guiding you on an adventure holiday. Jonathan Taylor is not like that, he wants you to learn photography and his courses are designed to help you do this. I have studied with Jonathan three times now once on a three day course in Bangkok and twice more on a longer photography tours in Thailand and Cambodia. Not only did it make a wonderful adventure and holiday I feel my skills have improved greatly, great experience highly recommended." Stephen Braken, Photo Tours in Thailand, Cambodia.
"From Klong Toey to the Sheraton, you'll see the different sides of Thailand. Jonathan is passionate about the culture and photography. He'll be candid about your work – he wants you to learn. If you are searching for something diverse and adaptable with a reputable photojournalist, Jonathan's your man." Karen Terry, 5 Days Course, Bangkok and beyond.
Longer term courses are also available to Bangkok residents and a schedule will be arranged to best suit each individual students needs. These courses are bought in easily affordable 5 class sets from Photography School Asia’s website.
Photography School Asia also run one of the most interesting Affiliate Programs going, via Shareasale Affiliate Network. The commission is a generous 10% on all course sales. Cookies are set to never expire which is great news, especially on the repeat sign ups, which the school now has many.
Jonathan Taylor is also man of the month on the internet nowadays, with numerous articles and interviews available online. But with his great school now up and running, as well as his photography as hard hitting and visually stunning as it is, why wouldn’t he be!
