Williams filed paperwork with the Grayson County Board of Elections on March 30th, declaring his intent to run for the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Grayson County. Announcements were released on both the campaign website and social media on March 31st and Williams (williamsforclerk.us) will officially announce his candidacy to the public on Tuesday, April 21st at 7:00pm from the Baldwin Auditorium located in the Historic 1908 Courthouse in Independence, Virginia.

Williams is a 1997 graduate of Grayson County High School. He received an Associate in Arts degree from Surry Community College, a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Radford Univeristy, a Master of Science degree in Justice Administration from the University of Louisville, and a Juris Doctor (law degree) from the Charlotte School of Law.

Williams says that if elected, he will use his legal skills and training to make the Grayson County Clerk's office the most accessible, efficient, cost effective, and legally accountable Clerk's office in the state of Virginia. His website lists plans to implement a new e-File system, paperless initiatives, free public seminars, and grant-funded projects to preserve historical records.
