Leveraging its unique ability to bridge from the library to the classroom, Gale is integrating Gale Artemis: Primary Sources into Cengage Learning’s MindTap e-learning platform. The move brings library content directly into a student’s learning path, facilitates collaboration between librarians and faculty, drives usage of library collections and positions the library closer to the engagement taking place in the classroom.
“Our position as part of Cengage Learning creates unique benefits for our customers, and this integration will connect Gale library resources to students and faculty in a way that no one else is able to do,” said Paul Gazzolo, senior vice president and general manager, Gale.
Academic institutions that use MindTap and Gale library resources, specifically Gale Digital Collections, can now link the two through the MindTap platform. Instructors using MindTap can select specific primary source documents from Gale Artemis: Primary Sources, Gale’s primary sources cross-search interface, and link them directly to syllabi readings, quizzes, research projects, classroom discussions or other activities. This capability saves instructors time and allows them to keep course content current.
Through MindTap, students will be taken into Gale Artemis: Primary Sources at the document level, but will have the ability to perform additional research through the platform alongside their coursework. This integration encourages students to interact with quality research materials that promote critical thinking and help build digital literacy skills. Students benefit from the easy access to materials through a single interface, spending less time searching and more time learning.
MindTap is the digital learning solution that transforms today’s students into critical thinkers through personalized paths of dynamic assignments and applications. By combining readings, multimedia, activities and assessments into a singular learning path, MindTap helps instructors engage students in their course content.
