The event will once again gather thousands of mining experts and service providers to the industry in the heart of the Zambian Copperbelt.
“Last year the launch event attracted some 1400 visitors which indicated that we are addressing a great need in the industry” says CBM-TEC event director Nicole Smith. “Also the workshops on the expo floor were very popular and jam-packed so this year we want to make sure we can accommodate everyone so we have vastly increased the size of the tent where the workshops and technical presentations take place.”
According to Nicole, health and safety, technology and improving productivity are some of the main themes of the workshops which are aimed at mining engineers, geologists and plant managers. “We will offer expert perspectives on how to minimise health and safety risks while complying with regulation, ensuring a secure working environment. Also, this is an industry where technology and knowledge are key to moving forward so we are offering valuable sessions on the latest cutting edge solutions, equipment and methods.”
She adds: “we are very proud of our list of experts who will share their experiences, best practice and address our audience on critical strategies for identifying and improving efficiency in mining operations. Improving productivity and reducing operational costs is another focus point.”

More than 1500 visitors, 100 exhibitors and 200 conference delegates are expected to gather for Copperbelt Mining Trade Expo & Conference (CBM-TEC) this year at what is the largest industry gathering of its kind in the region.
Once again the event enjoys strong industry support and is endorsed by the Zambia Chamber of Mines and the Zambian Association of Manufacturers. The Association of Zambian Mineral Exploration Companies (AZMEC) and the Lusaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry are also supporters again. Sandvik Mining is returning as platinum sponsor for the event while Barloworld Equipment has confirmed as gold sponsor. Other big names on the expo floor include: Murray & Roberts, Manitou Group, Atlas Copco and Tri- Pump Engineering Ltd.
