ARX, the digital signature company, is proud to announce that the CoSign digital signature solution has been recognized as a SSCD (Secure Signature Creation Device) by the Greek regulator EETT according to Greek Presidential Decree 150/2001 “Adaptation to Directive 99/93/EC of the European Parliament on the Community Framework for Electronic Signatures.”
Greece has followed Italy’s legal approval in July 2014 according to which manufacturers of remote signing solutions are required to prove that their product has undergone rigorous hardware and software security testing and received Common Criteria EAL4+ certification.
CoSign is the first solution in Europe to offer remote (server-side) qualified digital signing in full compliance with the Common Criteria EAL4+ standards. It is also fully compliant with the recent eIDAS (Electronic Identification and Trust Services for Electronic Transactions in the Internal Market) regulation, which will take the place of Directive 99/93/EC across Europe by 2016, and replace the term SSCD with QSCD (Qualified Signature Creation Device).
Vassilis Papadoulis, General Manager at ARX Reseller ICT314 Digital IT Solutions, says: “We are pleased that the CoSign solution has been officially recognized by EETT as a SSCD according to Greek Presidential Decree 150/2001. CoSign is the only reliable next-generation digital signature solution for enterprises and organizations aspiring to move forward. It is now possible for end users to digitally sign from anywhere and any device (PC, smart phone, web) without any need for a USB Token or smart card to store their digital certificate. As additional countries adopt this definition, we are confident that the use of digital signatures will become increasingly prevalent throughout the European Union.”
Yuval Shiboli, Sales Manager at ARX, adds: “With the recent enactment of eIDAS, the use of remote digital signatures is evolving rapidly in all European member states. Businesses and governments can now use secure and compliant digital signatures on cross-border, cross-sector and cross-enterprise electronic transactions throughout the EU.”
