Dusty Dreams Productions announces it has launched a KS campaign to help fund its film Light Wounds, based on the true story of Dustin DeMoss, a young Veteran who battle the onset of schizophrenia in his 20s. The film has attached Tommy Flanagan (Sons of Anarchy, Sin City, Gladiator) for the role of the father and Terry Serpico (Army Wives, Donnie Brasco) for the role of the Veteran’s Affairs Officer. Currently, 70% of the film’s budget has been secured and the KS campaign seeks to fund the remainder of the budget.
Flanagan portrays Tom Porter in the biopic, which chronicles the life of a young veteran, Clifton Porter, as he returns from the military in 2008 to help take care of his mother during her battle with ovarian cancer. As Clifton works to adjust to civilian life and make a better life for him and his family, he experiences the onset of schizophrenia with the ensuing mental and emotional demise. The crisis exposes the deep tensions within the family, as they all struggle to face Clifton’s hardest battle.
