ISO 27001 is the formal standard of certification of Information Security Management Systems. These are the frameworks to design, implement, manage, maintain and enforce information security processes and controls systematically and consistently throughout the organization.
The entire audit for this certification was conducted by INTERTEK Quality Registrar, a business unit of Intertek Group Plc UK. Issued on December 2006, this certification shall be valid for till Dec 2008. Intertek Inc. audited the organization and awarded ISO27001 certification for Offshore Development Centers in Pune and Bangalore for all Business and enabling functions. KPIT Cummins was evaluated for the effectiveness in implementation of information security policies and procedures to protect customers and organization’s confidential information and Intellectual Property. Regular Internal Audits & Surveillance audits by ISO every 9 months will ensure that the effectiveness is sustained with in the organisation.
