It’s clearly more than just kids who prefer Kids Preferred. The children’s toy and gift manufacturer was recently honored with the 2014 Best Toys Earnie Award. Awarded annually by Earnshaw’s magazine, the Earnies recognize outstanding children’s companies for excellence in design. The Earnies are the only awards program that is voted on by industry experts, gathering votes from thousands of retailers and brand executives across the United States and Canada.

The 36th annual Earnies began in May, when retailers and manufacturers nominated deserving companies in 21 different categories, including best toys, best new brand, best footwear, best baby gear and more. A ballot is then created to reflect the industry’s top four selections in each category; these companies are voted on and Earnshaw’s tabulates the results and announces the winners each October, hosting an awards ceremony to celebrate the best children’s companies in North America.
