What if your online shopping could give shelter to the homeless or your new mobile phone helped find a cure for cancer?

From now on when people shop online part of the price they pay for the product goes to Charity!

When someone signs up online for a new credit card or utility or other service a donation goes to charity!

And best of all, they don't pay a thing but still get the tax benefit!

Worldwide each year more than $10 billion dollars in commissions and referral fees from online shopping and signing up to services such as credit cards, utilities, mobile phones, is paid to businesses. Initiative USA, part of the Global Fundraising Initiative, turns these commissions into charity donations.

Everyone wants to support charity and good causes but a lot of people cannot do it at the amounts they used to when times were better. The Initiative lets people make extra donations to charity but doing so for free.

The Initiative launched in Australia in August 2014 and in this six weeks people have donated to charity for free each time they shopped or signed up for a service using the Initiative site.

The Global Fundraising Initiative is an online engine promoting products and services.

When a person shops online or signs up to a service such as credit card, broadband, energy or mobile phone plans, a donation is made to their nominated charity and the shopper is sent the tax receipt from the charity.

Shoppers still buy from the retailer but can register their details first with the Global Fundraising Initiative so the donation is made in their name.

"The purpose of the Initiative is to increase the amount of money being donated without placing greater demands on the donors hard earned cash", said Mr Alex Jordan, CEO of the Global Fundraising Initiative. "People already give so much in direct donations and the Initiative gives them the opportunity to donate more but without costing them anything except for the price of the purchase".

People can now donate for free and Charities have a service that delivers extra funding. Initiative USA will be free for Charities to use.

"Initiative USA will work on the same basis as Initiative Australia with 100% of the donation amount going to the shopper's preferred charity and the shopper will be able to see how much is going to charity before they buy or sign up", said Mr Jordan.

All donations per product category are equal leaving the actual purchase decision to the consumer based on product suitability.

"This is a one-off donation for the purchase or sign up to a product. There are no trailing commissions or hidden prices", add Mr Jordan,"it is the same product and offer as buying direct from the retailer just with the added benefit of doing something great".

Shoppers only pay for the product or service. The donation is paid by the Initiative from the sales commissions and referral fees paid by the advertising businesses. Making the donation in the name of the shopper is the Initiative's way of thanking the shopper for participating.

A new look site for the November 2014 launch of Initiative USA is currently being developed for the USA and Australian markets. The Initiative will continue its expansion programme launching in Europe in early 2015.

"Many countries recognise tax deductibility when a person donates and the Global Fundraising Initiative is expanding to give everyone the ability to donate for free", said Mr Jordan.

Unlike other businesses that get people to shop for Charity, the Initiative believes the shopper should receive the tax benefit rather than the business.

"Why are we putting 100% of the donation in the shoppers name? Well it is their money that is being spent after all, so why wouldn't we?" added Mr Jordan.

The Initiative asks people think of their own online habits and those of their family, neighbours, work colleagues and friends, how many shop online or are getting a new credit card, utility or mobile phone? The Initiative has the capability to create millions of dollars in additional donations each year, not costing the shopper anything above the existing purchase price.

In the USA each year, over $4 billion is paid in fees and commissions by advertisers. Initiative USA is being launched to turn a significant portion of this money into free donations to charity.

Now that people can buy what they want, donating at no personal expense and getting the tax benefit, it is a simple choice of either buying direct or buying direct and donating using Initiative USA.

"There have been a few advertisers contacted about participating in Initiative Australia that declined which is surprising given that the ones saying no thanks pay the commissions and fees to for profit companies but seem to have issue with the money being donated" said Mr Jordan. "All of advertisers we have spoken to about Initiative USA are very willing to participate and very supportive of the Initiative".

"We have also been in contact with a number of companies about becoming sponsors of Initiative USA which we have received some very positive feedback," added Mr Jordan.

Charity and Not for Profit organisations interested in participating in Initiative USA should contact the Global Fundraising Initiative via their website.
